Girl Molestor Gets 3 Months
A 19 year old, Russell Zimmer man Jr., of 116 West Fourth street, received three months in the House of Corrections for molesting two young girls in Baker Park. He pleaded ignorance of his actions and asked for a suspended sentence citing time spent in jail awaiting verdict. The magistrate recommended transfer to the Roxbury State prison farm.

Awol Soldier Convicted After County Chase
Military authorities named him five weeks AWOL from his post. Lawson was convicted on State Police testimony of three traffic offenses including exceeding 50 miles per hour and reckless driving without a license. He was captured Thursday night after a wild chase across southern county roads amid fog and drizzle.

Anxious To Return Mines To Operators
Pittsburgh August 9 Adm Ben Morrell coal mines administrator for the United States said today the Government is exceedingly anxious to return bituminous mines to operators but will not do so until assured production will continue. He noted the duration of seizure depends on UMW and operators settling differences so mines can be turned back with guaranteed output. He cited absence of John L Lewis and operators reluctance to negotiate with acting UMW President John T O Leary as hindrances. Two fires Friday gave United and Junior companies stiff work but minimum losses were reported.
