Endangerment of Lives by Armed Guards Taints Rail Strikes
Cleveland reports Chief executives of the big four rail brotherhoods have urged members to stay away from company property if their lives are endangered amid the shopmen strike. Warren S Stone, president of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, warned 1200 Joliet workers quitting signals more cases unless yard and shop conditions change. He said the action requires no approval and stressed that workers are not to endure abusive guard treatment.
