Woman with two identities is committed to hospital
In Fort Myers Florida the murder trial of 25 year old Juanita Maxwell ends with a verdict of insanity. The defense cites a split personality Wanda Weston as the killer of 73 year old Inez Kelly and Maxwell will be held in a state hospital for treatment. The judge questions the sanity of a woman with limited schooling while allowing the two personalities to surface in court. Maxwell sobbed as the verdict was read embracing her husband and pledging love. The trial timeline includes testimony from a social worker and psychiatrists who support the split personality finding. Maxwell faces long term commitment pending further evaluation.
