Point of Rocks Holds Civil War Echoes and Church Remains
The Potomac river village once called Trummelstown near the C and O Canal and B and O Railroad sits on a hill above Sugarloaf Mountain. The aging St Pauls Episcopal Church, rebuilt after flood damage, stands near a well kept cemetery as residents recall 19th century clashes over canal and rail line and wartime Army occupation.
