Rock wool fire damages truck cargo in Maryland area
A fire early this morning caused about 1000 dollars of damage to a cargo of rock wool on a Maryland Transportation Company truck on DeGrange street. A portion of the shipment from Millville West Virginia to Washington was ruined while the rock wool head and the truck sustained damage. Firefighters used gas masks and booster streams to control the stubborn blaze after drivers and firm employees fought it with extinguishers. Nearby incidents and a similar Brunswick case were noted by officials.

Cleveland police notified by county authorities they may close the file on Millard Moose Bowie. Four Meet Fiery Death In Plane Crash At Beacon Oil
Everett Mass August 7 1939 an executive of the Carrier Mandell Air Conditioning Corp Thomas Mandell 36 his two daughters Anne 22 and Harriet 19 and the pilot Nelson Pell died when their chartered plane plunged into a gas fume chimney at the Beacon oil plant. Debris filled the 25 foot high chimney as witnesses recalled the craft broke apart and exploded flames followed by blasts. Firemen quickly controlled the fire and officials said power shutoff prevented a larger disaster. The plane which was flying in fog was attempting to reach an airport three miles away near Revere.
