Alpacas Find Home With Frederick Couple
Hines and Sue Ann Wilms, from Iowa farm backgrounds, started an alpaca enterprise near Frederick. They bought three alpacas in March from the Alpaca Connection in Connecticut, noting fiber quality and docile temperaments. They plan a herd of about 40, market the fiber and breeding stock, and emphasize vaccination, hoof trimming, and continuous learning in this community-supported venture.
