Tractor Mishap Kills Man In Frederick County
A 57 year old Frederick County man, John William Elkins Sr., was crushed to death when his tractor pinned him to the ground near Old Annapolis Road. Police said improper chain attachment caused the lift to pin the operator as he attempted to pull fence posts. The accident occurred about 2 20 p m near Mt Pleasant.

Ball Road Hunt For Missing Boy Draws Police Help
State Police continue a large search after a four to five year old boy was reportedly dropped over a fence along Ball Road. Irving Johnson family witnessed a blue car driver drop the child then accelerate. About 50 volunteers and a State Police helicopter comb corn fields west of Ball Road as footprints and missing clothes are noted. No clues on the child or driver have been reported.
