Bring Minor League Baseball to Frederick Sparks Local Debate
In Frederick Maryland residents urge caution over a minor league team at McCurdy Field arguing it could divert funds from youth fields and increase street problems. A reader proposes building a new youth park instead while another supports the idea to bring pro baseball to benefit local youth. The letter reflects tensions over public spending and community priorities. In Edmonton Alberta AP reports John Muckler was named assistant coach of the Oilers, replacing failed renewal. Muckler brings 20 years minor league coaching experience and signs a two year contract as Billy Harris departs.
