Thurmont OKs new building code to join county standards
Thurmont officials approved adopting the Frederick County building code with a Sept. 1 start date. Mayor James Black said local enforcement will rely on county inspectors for now, noting no immediate need for a Thurmont inspector and that county oversight is expected to deter nonlocal builders. The measure follows lengthy study and public workshops with few objections.
