Frederick beaten in 16 year old play title game
Metro of Geltimore defeated Frederick 8 to 5 to win the State Babe Ruths 15 year old title at Potomiac High School after a rain halted start. The game resumed with Frederick batting in the sixth with loaded bases and two out but Wilson flew out to end the inning. Frederick's Mike Rinehart hit a leadoff homer in the seventh, his second of the game, but Frederick managed only one run. Six Frederick errors led to five unearned Metro runs as Metro used three pitchers and held a four-hint edge. If Frederick had won a third game would be played Thursday for the state title.
