Mahoney Case Moves To Maryland Appeals Court
The Court of Appeals in Annapolis opened hearings on Mahoney's bid for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination amid a flurry of activity. Philip Dorsey sought access to voter records in two or three precincts in Baltimore to challenge results, aided by Arthur Myers, a noted handwriting expert. If the inspection reveals fraud, Mahoney and Dorsey could gain enough votes to flip the nomination with Byrd’s districts possibly narrowing or reversing outcomes.

Censure moves split Senate over McCarthy amid party politics
The Senate faces a censure push against Wisconsin Republican Joseph McCarthy amid Democratic and some Republican opposition. Critics argue the action aims to weaken McCarthy and the GOP's anti communist drive, while defenders say recent history shows selective enforcement of censure. In Kansas, a revolt against the GOP Statehouse administration gains spotlight as Lt. Gov. Fred Hall leads in the governor race, while incumbents in Kansas Missouri Michigan and West Virginia win renomination battles amid light turnout and mixed results.
