Brunswick railroad man Elmer F Painter remains in jail after a hearing before Associate Judge Patrick M Schnauffer on contempt of court for non payment of alimony and separate maintenance to his wife Elizabeth L Painter. The arrears total about 190 dollars on a 20 dollar weekly orden. He was previously jailed last October for similar contempt with over 400 dollars in arrears. Fall From Tower Takes Man's Life
Waynesboro Pa August 4 a PUA steelworker fell from a 30 foot tower at the Frick plant last week dying from injuries. Walter Chiefer 46 of Crear Scoring M4 identified by hospital officials as the deceased. He was deployed to help dismantle the plant and admitted with fractures in both arms a broken leg and internal injuries. Gordon H Tobery son of Mr and Mrs John E Tobery was injured in a separate incident fracturing his left wrist after falling about twenty feet from a pole near Brunswick. He received treatment at Frederick Memorial Hospital and was discharged with orders not to work for several months.
