The National Center for Education Statistics released the nations report card showing math score gains across the United States and in Maryland for NAEP tests taken last year. Frederick County Public Schools reported one third of fourth graders met basic standards in 1990 improving to 31 percent in 2000. Eighth graders rose from 52 percent above basic in 1990 to 66 percent in 2000 with advanced rising from 2 to 5 percent. Twelfth graders showed mixed results from 1990 to 2000.
