August Rain Continues July Moisture Across Towns
The first day of August brought rain matching July with multiple storms delivering over half an inch in half an hour. Wolfsville saw wind and uprooted corn, while Foxville and Yellow Springs faced heavy downpours and lightning. Frederick and Lewistown reported lighter totals, roads stayed clear, and most damage remained minor aside from fallen trees and washed fields. Forecasters note August rainfall could continue similar to July, following record-heavy summers in 1936 and 1937.
