Woman drowns in backyard pool with son in critical condition
LIBERTYTOWN A Frederick County woman died after an apparent backyard pool incident Monday evening. Sandra Lynne Parise 52 of Hemp Avenue was pronounced dead at Carroll County Hospital. Her son Joseph Francis Parise 9 was treated at Johns Hopkins Hospital and listed in critical condition. Neighbors said the two were alone in an above ground pool 3 to 7 feet deep. A neighbor recalled seeing them splashing about minutes before discovery.

Mount Airy to get larger post office by January
