Sugar Loaf Mountain is praised as a landmark rising from Maryland farmlands. Gordon Strong founded Stronghold Inc to preserve the mountain and create an outdoor beauty site for all. The route features a mountain lake, willows, a marrow road, cannons, and a Union lookout near the top with views toward Buckeystown and White's Ferry. Stronghold aims to revive chestnuts with 1,000 irradiated trees amid a fence and chestnut rail.
