Dr Aked Jests On Morgan And Hymns In England

Rev Dr Charles T Aked of Fifth Avenue Baptist New York lectured at Chautauqua on Jonathan to John praising Americas influence on English progress. Arm Lost at Antietam Found in Army Museum Photo

A Minnesota congressman received a curious request from Captain J F Allen of St Paul to photograph his amputated arm lost at Antietam. The surgeon preserved the limb and it was photographed and sent to Captain Allen, with the arm in good state at the Army Medical Museum. The note includes unrelated church ad and a preacher calling kisses a necessity at Desplaines Camp Meeting.

Pennsylvania Railroad Tests Largest Electric Locomotive Yet

Westinghouse and Pennsylvania Railroad showcased a half-section of a massive 4000 horsepower single phase alternating current locomotive built for New York terminal traffic. Test runs reached 66 mph on a curved East Pittsburgh track with potential 90 mph on straight track. Electric traction promises big cost savings and wider adoption.
