Frederick Municipal Airport Dedication by Frederick Officials
The Frederick May or and Aldermen announce the opening and dedication of the Frederick Municipal Airport. The project began in 1944, funded with 150000 from the Federal Government, and honors World War II veterans and Frederick County servicemen. The airport features paved runways, taxiways, lighting, and an administration building, with All American Airways beginning service in March 1949. The city leased the second floor to the weather bureau for 10 years and invites public inspection and use.
