Old graves to be moved for landfill in Hagerstown
Washington County planners move to disinter 19th century graves at a 425 acre Lund landfill site after a 1990 purchase and state and federal agreement. Officials say 17 graves identified, up to 89 possible markers, with remains to be rebury near a memorial and land use reduced by the disinterment. Local residents worry about honoring ancestors and preserving history.
