Hollywood on TV: Welles favors directing over acting
Orson Welles, famed for radio fame as The Man From Mars, says TV lacks willingness to let him direct and doubts a Desi Arnaz pilot will sell. He critiques TV’s focus on selling products over entertainment and laments TV’s middle-age phase, while other stars discuss upcoming projects in film and TV. The piece ends noting the Methodist Church remains the largest Protestant denomination.
