Mexico Plans Ship Rail Road Across Isthmus
Mexico bids to build a gigantic multi track railroad to move oceangoing ships from the Gulf of Mexico to the Pacific by sending them on amphibious drydocks across the Isthmus of Tehuantepec. The plan envisions 24 rails and docks with 1200 wheels, speed 18 mph, cost about 30000000, far cheaper than a canal. Dr Modesto Rolland promotes the idea in Los Angeles seeking U S licensing.
