Fifteen men under George Bur, superintendent of the city water works, went Thursday to combat a forest fire near Fishing Creek watershed. They returned Friday reporting the fire out and no danger to the water supply, though some timber within the watershed was burned. Raymond Edward Long a long time county resident died at 8 59 am in Ci Hospital after an eight week illness. He was 64 years 4 months 1 day old and had lived on the Rocky Ridge home farm. He operated a farm implement business at New Midway for 26 years and later ran a city automobile business. He belonged to Grace Reformed church and several lodge and encampment groups. He is survived by his widow Elizabeth Slagic and one son Roland F E Long, plus brothers and a sister.
