Eastalco Faces Water Rate Clash Over Plant Expansion
Eastalco Aluminum officials oppose Frederick County’s plan to raise water rates as the county expands use of the New Design Road plant toward Ballenger Creek. They warn costs could double to over 600000 annually for the same 13 million gallons daily, while the county argues all users must share plant operating costs as potable water upgrades are required for residential service. County officials say talks will continue to reach a compromise before final decisions.
