Coppini the sculptor who shaped Key Monument
The article recounts Coppini's rise from a $24 weekly salary to a celebrated sculptor. Guided by Doyle and Perry, he helped carve the Frederick Key Monument using a pen and ink sketch and eventual sculpture. Despite later credit to Doyle, Coppini claims authorship of the work and reflects on his journey to national recognition. He married Elizabeth di Barbieri in 1898 and became a prominent figure in American sculpture.
