Escapee Given Four Years
A 16 year old youth was sentenced in Circuit Court to four years in the Maryland Department of Correction. Ruben Tisdale of Baltimore pleaded guilty to escaping from Frederick County jail on February 17 with three other inmates and received one year on the escape charge plus a three year sentence for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. William R. Leckemby Jr. will represent Tisdale. In a separate case, Yvonne Mae Boyce Thomas, 20, of West South Street, was given three years probation for possession of controlled dangerous drug paraphernalia, with supervision, and the court suspended a three year DOC sentence on condition she live with her parents and seek employment. Thomas was the last defendant tried from the November 2 drug raid that led to 21 arrests. A Knoxville man, Maurice Edward Weedon Jr., 28, changed his plea to guilty on counts of assault with intent to murder and related charges from November 28. Weedon’s attorney requested a pre-sentencing investigation. bond was set at $5,000 on both charges.
