Spring weather shifts guide to peach and apricot care

A bud test method helps decide whether to continue spraying, and instructions are detailed in Extension Bulletin 125 with a new spray sheet insert available this spring.

Tree shelter aids foresters in protecting seedlings
Foresters use a transparent corrugated polypropylene tube placed around each seedling at planting. UV inhibitors extend shelter life to five to seven years. The device, called Tuley tube, originated in 1979 from Graham Tuley. It reduces labor, helps locate seedlings, and promotes early growth while deterring deer and rabbits.
