Foreign Farm Laborers Not Needed Here Says Commission

The FF A presidential commission reported the United States does not need foreign migratory farm laborers. It urged using domestic workers with higher wages and better living conditions, noting about 1,000,600 migratory farm workers remain, half from Mexico, and 80 percent of Mexican workers crossed illegally. The group proposed a federal committee, anti illegal hiring laws, first call for workers in Puerto Rico and Hawaii, and extending Taft-Hartley to farms, plus state aid for labor camps and migrant housing, with broader social programs.
