State aid sought to fill Frederick County school post
The Frederick County Board of Education has turned to the State Department of Education to help find a new superintendent to replace Dr. James A. Sensenbaugh who becomes state superintendent June 1. The board discussed selection procedures and the wide open field of candidates including out of state applicants. The search will require meeting state requirements and additional education beyond a master's degree with principal experience. The board plans to act carefully and may appoint an acting superintendent if needed until a permanent choice is made.

Car Demolished In Early Morning Accident Near Emmitsburg
A two passenger car carrying two New Jersey men, Douglas D. Gill and William C. Kleiber, crashed on U.S. 15 about 12:20 am, half a mile north of Emmitsburg. Gill, the 1961 Chevrolet Corsica driver from Butler, was not injured. Kleiber, 22, from Weehawken, was admitted to Gettysburg Hospital with severe lacerations to his right hand. Gill was charged by state police Trooper R. C. Lewis with speeding for existing conditions.
