Torrential rains flooded Waco and parts of Texas with seven tornadoes reported statewide. Rivers rose to flood stages in south Texas while water swept away roadbeds on U S Highway 77 near Waco. About 150 to 200 people were evacuated from a South Side area as waters three to six feet deep swamped 15 blocks.
