SRC Bids Sought for I-70S Third Lanes in Montgomery County
Maryland State Roads Commission invites bids for two federal aid projects adding third lanes and concrete median barriers to about 7.8 miles of I-70S near Montgomery Village Avenue. First project bid opening May 18 covers grading drainage paving third lanes and median barrier from 0.18 mile north to 0.6 mile north of Ma. 28 for 4.473 miles. Second project bid opening May 25 covers grading drainage paving third lanes from 0.30 mile north of Ma. 118 to 0.18 miles north of Montgomery Village Avenue for 3.326 miles with concrete median barrier. Officials say the work will relieve congestion in a growing area affecting Frederick commuters.
