Huge Population Growth Predicted At Rotary Talk
Louis P. Shannon of Dupont Chemical warned Frederick Rotary Club that U S population may rise sharply, threatening resources and energy supplies. He urged increased per person production, longer working hours, better tools, and solar energy as essential to meet future demand. He warned of dwindling water and energy, then urged individual effort and scientific progress to solve tomorrow's problems. The talk preceded announcements of upcoming Rotary events and a joint meeting with nearby clubs.
