Easter Dawn Services Draw Thousands Across Frederick County
Amid clear skies and cool air, several thousand worshippers from Frederick city and county attended dawn Easter services. The interdenominational service moved indoors to Calvary Methodist due to chill, led by Miss Alta Ice. Rev. Paul Zeller noted the largest sunrise attendance in years at Graceham Moravian Church, about 150 worshippers, with graveyard ceremonies and brass choir music. Sugar Loaf Mountain hosted a sunrise service by the Doubs Methodist charge, drawing many cars and a post service breakfast, despite 28 degree temps. Bright spring fashions appeared at various services and a weekend of activity and strolling followed the sunlit day.
