Jackson Mich April 18 Hundreds of jailbirds will be released June 1 from Southern Michigan prison. They are canaries that the inmates have been keeping in their cells. Early Easter frost spares most local fruit crops

The victim from Bedford Virginia was shot Oct 10 with an 11 gauge shotgun his body buried in a pig pen later dug up burned and charred remains buried in the Dover city dump. A relative letter showed Wooldridge had been missing for months since visiting a woman via lonely hearts clubs letters did not name her.

Newport News Va April 18 Aay The keel of the world's largest aircraft carrier capable of bombers with atom bombs was laid today. The 65000 ton super flat top will be named the United States and sparked Navy Air Force controversy over strategic bombing.
