City tax rate may climb seven cents in coming year
Frederick officials discussed a possible seven cent or higher rise in the city’s property tax rate for the next fiscal year. Landfill disposal fees will jump from 18 to 27 dollars per ton, adding about 300000 dollars to the budget. The current tax rate is 1.55 per 100, with a 29 million dollar budget. Final budget decisions target May 10 and June 1 completion.
