Orchard reports indicate peach bloom lagged by weekend cold but most areas head toward full bloom by tomorrow as Thurmont area shows two thirds of blossoms open. Cherries and plums near bloom, no damage from frost, and temperatures expected to reach the mid seventies with a warming trend.
Connie Nicholas, 45, was convicted of voluntary manslaughter in the love slaying of her wealthy married lover, Forrest Teel. She was taken to Indiana Women's Prison in Indianapolis for a mandatory 2 to 21 year term with appeal possible. jury foreman noted multiple ballots before verdict and no death sentence discussed. Professor Henry Wade was hospitalized after a yard fall today.

The meeting also covered planning for hospital expansion and a progressive five stage nursing care program. March figures show 110 treated, 615 admitted, 114 remaining, 117 births, 15 deaths.

Police surround the craft after landing. three hijackers are named as former secret police officers and one as a former air force mechanic. The cast includes a Castro-era soldier who tries to intervene.
Taxpayers rushed to file federal and state returns as midnight Wednesday marked the deadline. Post Office reports show about 38 percent of late collections were letters to the IRS or State Comptroller. Local tax offices were busy but no major jams occurred as staff helped residents at Winchester Hall.
