Election By Softballers In Frederick County League
The Frederick County League held a meeting at HS West Church street with James Powell as president and Jim Easterday as secretary treasurer. The Sunday softball circuit aims for six years of organization by May and may grow to eight clubs including Middletown Mountain Gate and Sandy Hook. Changes include no doubleheaders and nine inning games starting at 2 pm. Teams meet in three rounds with twenty players each. players may be added until game ten and cannot play in City Major or Baltimore Carroll loops. An entry fee of 15 dollars funds trophies for top four teams. Shaughnessy playoffs end season with single elimination then two out of three finals. A next meeting is set for April 28 at 7:30 pm at 118 West Caureb Street to finalize the schedule and possibly add two more teams to reach eight.
