Funeral services set for Collins family member at Sharon Baptist
Elmer and Chester Collins, three sisters, Mrs. Sam Sexton, Miss Delcie Collins and Miss Hassie Collins, eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews are named as survivors. The body lies at C. E. Cine and Sons on Patrick street. Friends may call. The funeral will move at 1 PM Tuesday to Sharon Baptist Church near West Friendship for 2 PM services. Interment follows in the adjoining cemetery.

No Clues In Man's Death Near New Market
State police report they have nothing to go on in the hit and run death of thr ee old construction worker Shirley C. Collins Sr. His battered body was found on Marviend 144 east of New Market after being struck by at least two cars Friday night. Frederick County medical examiner Dr. B. O Thoms confirmed the traffic deaths. Collins was born in Lee County Virginia, a father of eight, and long time resident of Frederick County employed by Somerset Construction Company of Hagerstown. Surviving relatives include his wife Eulah Jenkins Collins and several children and siblings. No eyewitnesses have been named and no arrests made.

In Glen Burnie Maryland an Anne Arundel County officer shot and killed Richard Roland Lacer 22 of Baltimore after a struggle near Marley Neck Road as he confronted the officer while two accomplices fled. The dead man was identified by his father and the incident followed a late Saturday safe theft from an Acme food store with about 2000 dollars found nearby.
