Perjury plea in Rockville yields suspended sentence

At the annual Rockville meeting of the Montgomery County Farm Bureau supply company it was reported that since July the group distributed 91000 of carload bought supplies to members, saving about 18000. The supply company now lists 250 members and the farm bureau about 706. Walter M. Magruder of Gaithersburg and G Edington Beil of Potomac were elected to two year terms on the board, replacing Ledoux E. Riggs who declined. Remaining holders include Josiah W. Jones Olney Charles VII Williams Powlesville and G Rust Canby Colesville. A proposal to form a Maryland Agricultural Corporation affiliate was discussed but the idea was dropped.

Fire Sweeps Acre of Mt. Pleasant Woods
A fire of unknown origin burned about one acre of woodland belonging to Henry Belmbrink near Mt. Pleasant and scorched land in the rear of Wesley Burrier's property two miles from town. Discovered between 4 and 6 pm Tuesday, it was under control by 6 pm after neighbors and 3 to 4 volunteers fought the blaze. The stretch previously burned March 31 last year. Smoke was extensive and visible for miles.
