Reported year work included 69 conventions 23 976 tracts and periodicals distributed 150 sermons and addresses 12 schools reorganized 2142 children gathered through organization. Sunday schools nationwide total 11 440 600 with Catholic and other schools added totaling 2 112 000 bringing Maryland totals to 232 261. Admitted into church from Sunday school 15 780. Mayor Davidson spoke briefly Rev Arthur Powell and Edward A Lawrence also addressed the gathering with choral music and instrumental interludes.

Four men were publicly hanged in Pennsylvania for murder. William A. Bartholow was executed at Easton, Charles Carter, colored, at Ebensburg, Zacharia Taylor at Waynesburg, Alfred James Andrews at Bellefonte, and Genis, colored, at Scranton for the murder of Jennie Mosely, colored, on May 14.
