Alleged forged check passer lodged in jail
A man passing a forged sixty five dollar check at the Francis Scott Key Hotel was arrested in Hagerstown and brought to Frederick. He offered multiple aliases and denied wrongdoing, later claiming amnesia. He is held by Sheriff Ingomar Albaugh, with hotel clerk John Shires and Policeman Aven G. Bargis involved in the capture. Eleanor J. Finley, longtime Pennsylvania Railroad telegraph operator, is honored for 40 years of service.
