Travelling Post Office Wagons Define Rural Free Delivery Era
In Carroll County Easter Monday marks an anniversary of Rural Free Delivery tests centered on the Traveling Post Office wagons. Wagons A B C and Davis served Westminster and nearby routes from 1899 to 1904, delivering and collecting mail under varying weather, expanding rural coverage and prompting post office reforms.
