House Rejects Baltimore County Tax Relief Plan
In Annapolis the House of Delegates rejected a plan letting Baltimore County swap part of its property tax for higher income taxes. Supporters argued it would aid homeowners, while critics warned of higher overall taxes and potential loss of state revenue. The measure would have shown a broader income tax, with a floor debate on its impact and costs. The House voted 59 to 41 to uphold the Ways and Means Committee’s kill decision.
