County tax revolt ideas mix library plan and courthouse reuse
Taxpayers urge spending cuts and propose ideas to ease the tax load. Commissioner Bollinger suggests a single county library serving both the county and Frederick Community College. Citizen Elliott Haines proposes selling the old courthouse with an easement for Court Square Park, modernizing interiors for law offices, and possible land swap to offset the price. Other suggestions include using the historic building for legal services and considering future needs for a new courthouse complex. Comments welcome on these ideas and other tax-saving measures.
