Former President Lyndon B. Johnson was admitted to the University of Virginia Hospital cardiac unit with chest pains. Dr. Richard S. Crampton said Johnson, 63, is comfortable and stable as tests proceed. he did not confirm a heart attack. Johnson was visiting his daughter and son in law in Charlottesville when symptoms began before 4 a.m. He was moved to the hospital around 5:30 a.m. en route to Washington for a wedding.
