High Waters Poise Flood Report Across County in Buckeystown Area
Heavy rainfall and rapid melting produced widespread flooding across the county. Monoacy and Israel’s Creek overflowed banks near Buckeystown, with Meadows turned to lakes north of Woodsburg. Roads near Walkersville and Emmitsburg were blocked, and traffic halted on the Emmitsburg state road. Multiple creeks including Tuscarora and Pirsch flooded intersections, and several streams exceeded banks Sunday morning, easing by evening. The Philadelphia Nationals struggled in spring games, though late-season success remains possible.
