Bartlett tells voters he can't buy job plan
Rep. Roscoe Bartlett, R-8th, faced about 50 Frederick County residents at a Western Maryland town meeting. He defended conservative stances on taxes and regulation while opposing the president's $16 billion job plan, saying it would create temporary, not lasting, employment and cost taxpayers about 90,000 per job. He also opposed lifting the gay in the military ban, arguing military effectiveness and costs of injuries. He endorsed venture capital incentives for real jobs and critiqued federal disaster grants as contributing to fiscal problems.
