Spring lecture series on aging at University of Maryland Baltimore

Potomac Journal Plans to Launch Regional Political Magazine

Potomac Journal, a new monthly magazine focusing on state and local government in the Maryland Virginia District of Columbia area, opens offices in Washington DC. Maryland Amusement Ride Safety Act tightens inspections

State Commissioner Harvey A. Epstein warns amusement rides cannot operate in Maryland without insurance and a certificate of inspection. Rides must notify the commissioner before season, with certificates valid up to one year, and inspections required at fairs and carnivals. Insurance minimum is $300,000 per ride. certificates valid 30 days in some cases.
