Holstein Association Sets 44th Annual Meet
The Frederick County Holstein Association hosts its 44th annual meeting and dinner at the Holiday Inn on April 11 with a 6 45 p m dinner. Reports cover past year activities including the county sale shows and projects with awards for outstanding production and All Maryland winners. J Homer Remsberg of Middletown will present a revised history of the breed dating to 1922 and a talk is planned. The event ends with musical selections by club members and books available to attendees. Edgar Wirts Jr presides with W Lewis Campbell as master of ceremonies. The following day the association holds its annual County Holstein Sale at Frederick Fairgrounds led by the girls.

Johnsville Boys Club Discusses Contests and Plans
The Johnsville Boys Club met at Dwight Dotterer’s home to judge in the Hoard’s Dairyman contest. Members entered as individuals and as a unit. A progress report on the basketball team was given by John Williams Jr. and plans for the County Council meeting were set for club president Clifford Hevner. The inter national dairy cattle judging contest was canceled this year. The Maryland team was proposed for an alternate reward. The 4 H Public Speaking Contest was discussed. The next meeting is set for April 13 at Judy and John Williams Jr.’s home.

Seventeen members attended the regular Jefferson Girls' 4-H Club meeting held March 21 at the home of Sharon Crampton. The group included fifteen members and two leaders. The meeting opened with the 4-H Pledge and the Pledge to the Flag.

4-H Baby Beef Tour Aims to Educate County Members
G H members prepare for a three day Baby Beef Tour at Frederick Fairgrounds starting Thursday at 9 am. The event, sponsored by the County Extension Service, invites 4-H baby beef members to inspect calves learn feeding and leadership, and bring calf purchase dates costs birth weights and daily feed amounts for visitors.

Trans World rig towed to Nigeria for first job
The Trans World 58 oil drilling rig, one of the world’s largest, is being towed from Rotterdam to Nigeria for its inaugural assignment. The $6 million oceangoing rig, owned by Trans World Co. a Kerr McGee subsidiary, is expected to arrive in about six weeks after construction in Rotterdam.

Feed Grain Program Extended Sign-Up Window
The Secretary of Agriculture and Or ville Freeman extend the sign up period for the 1966 Wheat and Feed Grain Diversion Programs until April 8.
