Allied High Commission eases controls on West German industry
In Bonn on April 1945 the Allied High Commission announced relaxed limits on West German war potential. Production in key sectors resumes with no size or speed caps for merchant ships and permits synthetic oil rubber and ammonia chlorine and styrene manufacture. Arms and large warships remain forbidden but machine tools electronic tubes and primary aluminum are allowed. The waiver of the steel output cap aims to boost defense industry.
