Magistrate William Kreykenbohm said groups giving air rifles to very young boys do not help the community. He freed Ralph Foltz after he was accused of assaulting a 12 year old amid a dispute over air guns. Eddie Slick and three companions, aged 9 to 12, shot at birds near Foltz farm. Foltz claimed he only separated the youths. The four Foltz guns remained with Foltz children as witnesses described a struggle.
